World Cancer Day 2026: advancing patient-centred cancer care with MyPath

World Cancer Day, marked on 4 February, highlights the global commitment to improving cancer prevention, treatment, and quality of life for people affected by cancer. On this occasion, the MyPath EU funded project underscores the value of patient-centred research and innovation in cancer care.

MyPath aims to integrate patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) into routine clinical practice, ensuring that patients’ symptoms and experiences are systematically captured and used to support more personalised follow-up and clinical decision-making.

MyPath went live in November, with the first patients included at Oslo University Hospital. Patients have completed PROMs assessments and clinicians have reviewed the results ahead of outpatient visits, enabling closer and more structured follow-up. The rollout to additional clinical centres is currently ongoing.

This milestone marks an important step towards implementing patient-centred cancer care in real-world settings. On World Cancer Day 2026, MyPath reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of cancer care by ensuring that patients’ voices are at the centre of care delivery.
